Full Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant

 

Rapidly growing Olathe based nonprofit looking for Full Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting needs.

 

The mission of Inclusion Connections is to strengthen the lives of individuals with disabilities by creating inclusive opportunities for community involvement, access to meaningful employment, and better options for supported living. Inclusion Connections 501c3 nonprofit was born out of a need for services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Our programs are innovative and include the following:

·      Education/Social—provides our special needs students with life skills and education through evening classes and community events

·      PawsAbilities—our in-house job training program in which students make, market, and sell pet treats and toys. This includes a bakery, retail store, offsite sales, and wholesale customer accounts.

·      BelongKC—our supported living campus. The organization is in the middle of a capital campaign to construct a campus on which our students will live with supports.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions
  • Reconcile entries for company credit cards
  • Monthly billing
  • Cash reconciliation/deposits
  • Journal Entries
  • Accounts receivable/payable
  • Coordinate, monitor, review and collect overdue/outstanding accounts
  • Payroll biweekly (20 or less employees)
  • Complete payroll tax forms including 1099’s
  • Manage Inventory
  • Manage employee and business insurance policies
  • Reconcile Point of Sale transactions
  • Account analysis and reconciliation 
  • Grant allocations/reconciliation
  • Kansas and Missouri sales tax reporting and payments
  • General ledger journal entries and reconciliation
  • Work closely with auditor and CFO to ensure entries are supported and accurate
  • Process pledges and expenses for capital campaign

Skills Required

  • Proven bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Data entry skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Expert with spreadsheets
  • Experience in QBO, Ramp
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in English and grammar
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision
  • Able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Non-profit and capital campaign record keeping a plus.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred

Job Type: Part time 32 hours per week--Ideal position for someone looking to work part time in a fun past paced environment while maintaining accounting skills.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00/hour depending on experience
