We are seeking a talented and experienced AI / MLOps Engineer with Azure OpenAI experience to join our team. This position is contingent upon contract award and requires a US citizenship to be eligible to obtain a Public Trust. This is a direct hire. No third party please.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement AI applications.
  • Streamline the development, deployment, and management of machine learning models in production environments.
  • Leverage public data sources to train and fine-tune the AI models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AI/ML technology trends and developments.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
  • Ensure the scalability and reliability of the AI/ML models for production deployment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in information technology including Azure and AI/ML.
  • Proficiency in Python and shell scripting.
  • Working knowledge of LLMs, including prompt engineering, how LLMs work, limitations, and infrastructure needs based on LLM size.
  • Experience with containerizing and deploying web applications in Azure App Service.
  • Experience standing up and configuring Azure AI Services to optimize cost and availability based on scaling needs. Services include Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI, Azure Document Intelligence.
  • Experience with and strong understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation concepts, including: Document processing strategies (chunking, vectorization, etc.), Vector database technologies, Information retrieval concepts and strategies (e.g. nearest neighbor search, hybrid search, semantic rerank), Grounded LLM question/answering.
  • Experience with evaluating and optimizing AI system components through experimentation.
  • Familiarity with MLOps principles, including model deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with setting up application logging and telemetry as well as performance monitoring for deployed models.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for protecting ML models and data, as well as federal data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with AI/ML open source tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
