Job DescriptionJob Description

This person will work conjointly with the Executive Director and assist with overseeing multiple contracted service areas through the Division of Developmental Disabilities providing services to families with children with special needs.

This person shall assist with staff supervision, program development and oversight, facility management, monitoring programs, partnership-building, marketing and public relations, and evaluating staff performance and parent/child interactions; be responsible for leadership and management of daily activities which might include but not be limited to Program Operations, Quality Management and Human Resources. Best candidates will be Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred and should have some behavior tech experience and be able to train staff to work with more challenging members

This person shall

  • Be familiar with contractual guidelines and ensure guidelines are understood and followed
  • Provide Direct Services with members; ensure capacity levels for program is maintained; manage the referral process, scheduling/staffing; Ensure site locations are clean, maintained and updated as needed and ensures that environment is safe and inviting for families,
  • Assist Executive Director in moving towards a paperless environment
  • Schedule observation times to evaluate program services and staff performance
  • Pursues effective collaborative partnership with other agencies, schools, businesses, etc. to increase the number of referrals being served
  • Establishes effective and trusting relationships with families and staff

· Assists in advertising, staff recruitment, orientation and training

· Assists staff on setting professional development goals with clearly defined and measurable program outcome/objectives

· Assists with performance reviews for staff within 90 days of hire and annually

· Seeks advice from Executive Director in the resolution of family, member and staff concerns or issues

· Plans & leads bi-weekly or monthly staff meetings

· Candidate shall meet at least one of the following requirements:

o Earned a bachelor’s degree or more in social science, health education, psychology, sociology, social work, health sciences, early childhood education, special education, rehabilitation counseling, human services field, such as sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology or another closely related field from an accredited college or university

o Has at least two (2) years of management or supervision experience in a human service field or developmental disability service field; or

o Have at least five (5) years of experience in leadership or management of an entity that services the ID/DD population or other similar population; or

o Must have (or be able to pass) a Class I Fingerprint and background Clearance, have a reliable vehicle and clean driving record

o Other trainings would include but not be limited to; First Aid, CPR, Article IX, Prevention of Behavior Incidents (CIT, CPI)
