Siema Construction is a small heavy highway/civil construction company for 20 plus years focused on commercial site work, concrete paving, building foundations, and hauling.

Job Summary

CAD Technician will be required to perform multiple tasks using Trimble Business Center. These tasks may include but are not limited to: Data Prep, Managing Survey Data, File Management, Quantity Calculations, Drafting Linework from PDF, survey points, or other raw data, Creating markups for RFI’s, and basic 3-D Modeling.


Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, promote and portray company values, always look out for your safety and the safety of others, conduct business with integrity, strive for excellence in all aspects of the job, motivated to succeed and improve skills, and hold self and others accountable for actions.
  • Maintain communication and correlation with Project Manager(s) and Estimating Staff
  • Manage Plans, Survey Files, CAD Files, and PDF’s as it relates to his/her ongoing projects in an organized and accessible manner.
  • Keep all plans, CAD files, and plan revisions up-to-date and readily available for all team members through Microsoft Teams
  • Assist projects at both bidding and construction phases.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned. This may include but is not limited to quote solicitation, delivering bids, contract buyout process assistance (sending/reviewing submittals, PO’s etc).

Job Requirements

  • Proficient in basic reading, writing, addition, and subtraction.
  • Proficient understanding of CAD Technology
  • Ability to visualize 2D design in a 3D world.
  • Basic understanding of equipment and construction.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft apps including Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
  • Must be skilled in Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Must be able and willing work in an office at a computer for 8+ hours at a time
  • Must take ownership of failures/faults.
  • Must perform tasks with a strong respect for deadlines and project needs.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to always pass controlled substance tests prior to and during employment.

Experience/Training/Education

  • Required experience: 2-5 years of CAD Technology in heavy highway/civil or related construction.
  • Desired 2-5 years CAD Technology - Trimble Business Center
  • Basic Plan Reading Knowledge Required
  • High School Education Required
