Conference Production Intern job at MPD Events, Los Angeles, CA - 3 month contract

Great opportunity for a new grad or someone looking for an entry-level position in the corporate event planning world

MPD Events is a multi-faceted, event production and consulting company creating imaginative events coupled with unparalleled execution and professionalism. We specialize in producing events at top commercial and private venues in Southern California. Our event expertise ranges from the most private of corporate retreats and board meetings to exclusive VIP social gatherings both Nationally and Internationally.

We produce superior quality, unique events, and experiences, continually using exceptional venues, caterers and vendors in Southern California and around the world.

 

Production Intern will assist Producers on a major business conference taking place at the world famous Beverly Hilton Hotel in September as well as assisting on potential smaller events and general office administrative tasks.

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct venue and vendor research to gather pertinent information

• Coordinate event details with vendors and shadow production team members onsite as needed

• Help prepare event documents including event decks, production schedules and packing manifests

• Participate in brainstorms for upcoming projects

• Manage company social platforms

• Assist on any ad-hoc tasks as required

 

Qualifications:

• Interest in a career in event planning, logistics, and/or operations

• Hospitality, events, and/or customer service background

• Complete work and delegated tasks within tight timelines

• Work well as part of a team

• Must be organized, self-motivated, and have an amazing can-do attitude.

• Must be hungry to learn; what you put into this will have a direct correlation to what you get out of it.

• Have strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is a must

• Have common sense, intuition, and can think creatively about a variety of challenges

• Have a keen eye for design and visual presentation

• Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment

• Ability to travel locally for meetings and events as needed

• Available to work overtime and weekends

 

Requirements:

• Must live in Los Angeles

• Have valid driver’s license

• Must be comfortable going to onsite events

• Must be able to provide own transportation and lodging during the course of internship

• Must like large dogs (we have two very friendly dogs)

 

Location: Position will be hybrid, working 3 days in a home office, 2 days remote, onsite at events as needed
