Job DescriptionJob Description

The Barista/ Café Associate is a crucial role to successful running of Brews and Scoops. If you like multi- tasking, fast environment, and learning new skill sets this may be the job for you. This individual will be responsible to serve the customers that come to our store. You will wear multiple hats through out the day from serving coffee or espresso drinks, to managing the orders, POS system, cleaning the store, ensuring the inventory is stocked and ready for use and the best part, make some delicious real fruit Ice cream and Espresso drinks for our customers.

Below are listed some of the key responsibilities:

  • Greets and Engages with our customer to provide an outstanding experience
  • Take orders, run the register
  • Prepare coffee/espresso drinks per the recipe ticket for consistent taste
  • Scoop and Swirl Ice Cream; make waffle products as needed, change out ice cream buckets
  • Clean the entire store daily and keep serving/ working area consistently clean throughout the day.
  • Restock low inventory during slow times.
  • Open and/or Close the store as requested
  • Follow all food safety regulations
  • Perform a number of other important related tasks as requested

Brews and Scoops Hours: (shortened afternoon hours during winter)

  • Monday - Friday 7:30am- 11:00 am & 3:00 pm- 9:00 pm
  • Saturday 12- 9 pm
  • Sunday – Closed

Barista/ Café Associate minimum committed hours per week: Full-time and Part-Time (approximately 20 hours ​(including Saturdays as needed) opportunities available.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service, coffee shops or café required
  • Ability to tolerate exposures to a wide variety of fresh, dried, and or frozen products, and powdered substances, including but not limited to strawberries, bananas, peanuts, tree nuts (such as cashew), milk, soy, proteins, spices without posing a direct to personal health and safety
  • Ability to follow procedures and willingness to comply with dress code requirements
  • Ability to keep the store clean and follow food safety regulations
