We are looking for Plastic Extrusion Operators and Supervisors to join our team.

We have 2nd and 3rd shifts available.

Plastic Extrusion Operator Duties:

  • Ability to set up and operate all extrusion lines, using a variety of thermoplastic materials to produce product meeting or exceeding specifications and dimensions within set time standards, in accordance to work orders and blueprints.
  • Install or change extrusion heads, dies, pins, sizing sleeves, screens and extruder screws as needed, Make all necessary line adjustments, including, start-up, temperature profile adjustments, dryer set-ups, resin changeovers and shutdowns.
  • Visually check extruded parts for defects, check dimensions and record using vernier calipers, tape measure and GO/NO GO rods and make necessary adjustments to keep materials in specification.
  • Arrange raw material feeding system and containers.
  • Mix raw materials as required.
  • Have the ability to instruct lower-grade machine tenders in the details of extrusion line operation.
  • Have the ability to detect flaws in raw materials and production equipment and make required mechanical or material changes as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of production set-ups, extrusion production data sheets, statistical process control or inspection report sheets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Plastic Extrusion Supervisor Duties:

  • Supervises the operation of all production functions through the use of approved and written targets and objectives with guidance and directions from the Extrusion Manager.
  • Train and supervise Extrusion Line Technicians for day to day production requirements.
  • Familiarize employees with complete extruder set-up and operation procedures in accordance with Extrusion Line Technician job description.
  • Familiarize employees with all inspection/testing procedures, safety procedures, and proper documentation procedures.
  • Meets frequently with Extrusion Line Technicians to evaluate individual performance and establishment of written goals.
  • Maintains detailed records of technicians performance and progress.
  • Will assist Extrusion Manager in corrective action procedures.
  • Schedule hours and shifts of Extrusion Line Technicians.
