Warehouseman

One year of warehouse experience preferred.  Must be at least 18 years of age.

Receives incoming shipments, checks all received freight for damages and count according to company procedures.  Reports all damages, shortages, overages, and other discrepancies on the outgoing manifest and to supervisor.

Unloads containers, identify and mark cargo for consignees, noting vessel, voyage, container number, customer and total pieces on cargo.

Offload pallets, properly securing freight on pallets, move freight to the appropriate designated areas of the warehouse, operating forklift as required.  Weigh items for shipment, adding weights and recording figures on applicable forms.

Load freight into containers according to proper procedures.  Prepare equipment for use, includes daily completion of equipment checklist to ensure it is in operating condition and performing routine inspection of mechanical equipment.

Working in an environment with fluctuation freezing and chill temperatures.  Requires learning warehouse operations, including receiving unloading, transferring and receiving.  Must follow specific instructions and safety procedures, including safety rules of forklift operation.

Perform other related warehouse duties as may be required or assigned.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.  Equipment used: Operates Forklift, uses hand truck, pallet jack, & standard safety equipment.  Frequent lifting and moving crates, boxes, equipment weighing up to 80 lbs.
