SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for creating and reviewing the detailed drawings of designs and associated bill of materials (BoMs) for single-use systems according to provided specifications. Assist Engineering personnel with design and material sourcing for new parts in support of these designs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCITONS:

  • Analyze specifications, customer requirements, and technical documents to determine their impact on designs.
  • Check dimensions of materials and assign numbers to material lists.
  • Generate creative solutions, translate concepts into images, and modify designs based on feedback.
  • Produce designs, drawings, BoMs, forms, and records.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to evaluate customer requirements, review drawings, and prepare templates for new products.
  • Obtain and assemble data, including product data sheets and material quotes, to complete drawings and BoMs.
  • Determine procedures and instructions according to design specifications and material requirements.
  • Assist in providing support to less experienced Engineer Designers.
  • Collaborate with Design/Drafting Supervisor to assign tasks and priorities.
  • Identify areas for process improvements.
  • Assist in addressing performance or attendance issues within the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with design, art or drawing/drafting applications.
  • Able to read and comprehend and interpret documents such as drawings, BoMs, safety rules, operating procedures, and manuals.
  • Basic understanding of mathematical fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent Solid Works knowledge.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel.
  • Familiar with project management software.
  • Good ERP knowledge, Syteline preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Patient, tactful, diplomatic, and approachable.
  • Able to stay calm in challenging situations.
  • Keen sense of urgency and ability to deliver ahead of deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and frequently manage multiple priorities.

  • Must be self-motivated, amendable to a variety of work projects and work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
