Job DescriptionJob DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Execute the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of pumps and parts in accordance with established procedures, demonstrating the ability to work independently.
- Hand dress (grind) parts to meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
- Perform run-out checks on parts and create gaskets when necessary.
- Ensure accuracy of part sizes and dimensions.
- Thread chasing and tapping holes as needed.
- Safely operate lift equipment and cranes for the movement of parts and pumps.
- Prepare pumps for shipment by following prescribed procedures.
- Apply paint to pumps and components.
- Undertake welding tasks such as pad welding, tack welding, build-up and filling, while managing material and supply levels.
- Operate a balance machine to ensure pump components meet specified procedures and standards.
- Conduct sandblasting and cleaning of pumps and components as required.
- Engage in special projects as assigned.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including paperwork, documents, pictures, etc.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, work rules, and procedures.
- Uphold a clean and organized work environment.
- Foster teamwork and demonstrate respect towards colleagues.
- Be flexible to work overtime on short notice.
Duties & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with one to three years of related experience preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, and operating instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Load and unload trucks as needed. Perform truck runs as required.
- Utilize safety glasses and shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, welding helmet and gloves, face shield, dust mask, respirator, hot mitts, and rubber gloves as per job requirements.
- Effectively communicate with customers and fellow employees.
- Perform mathematical calculations with proficiency.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
- Handle basic problem-solving in standardized situations.
- Utilize inventory and manufacturing software.
- Obtain lift equipment certification and OSHA training post-hire.
- Operate small hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, cranes, lift equipment, and tool room machines.
- Proficient in operating welding equipment.
