HVAC Maintenance Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Residential HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team, focusing on providing exceptional maintenance services for our clients' home heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The ideal candidate will excel in routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and delivering outstanding customer service in residential settings.

Pay & SPIFFS:

Hourly Rate & SPIFF Program for sales related to:

  • Membership Programs
  • Accessory Sales
  • Referrals to Sales Team for System upgrades

Responsibilities:

  1. Routine Residential Maintenance:
    • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on residential HVAC systems.
    • Inspect, clean, and service heating and cooling equipment in homes.
    • Replace or repair defective components to ensure optimal system performance.
    • Perform seasonal tune-ups and efficiency checks.
  2. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues in residential settings.
    • Identify and address malfunctions, including repairing or replacing faulty components.
    • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the root cause of system problems.
  3. Documentation and Customer Interaction:
    • Maintain detailed records of residential maintenance and repair activities.
    • Document equipment specifications.
    • Communicate effectively with homeowners, providing clear explanations of services performed and recommendations for optimal system performance.
  4. Safety and Professionalism:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during residential maintenance and repairs.
    • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with homeowners.
    • Stay informed about industry best practices and new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC technical school or apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Maintenance Technician with a focus on residential systems.
  • Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems, components, and functions.
  • Familiarity with various HVAC tools and equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to homeowners in a clear and understandable manner.
  • EPA certification for handling refrigerants (Type II or Universal).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements: The position may require lifting moderate equipment, working in residential spaces, and climbing stairs.
