Isolatek International, the industry leader in the marketing and manufacturing of passive fire protection materials for the construction industry has an immediate opening for a full-time Plant Manager in our Operations Department at its Huntington, IN location.

The Plant Manager is responsible for the safety, quality, and productivity of the building. This position manages the daily activities of employees to achieve the company’s goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the facility meets expectations for production scheduling, inventory control, operating rate, and facility financial performance. The Plant Manager leads by proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.

SCOPE OF POSITION

The position reports to the Regional Operations Manager. With plant leadership, develop and improve on plant performance including cost reduction, waste minimization and shift/equipment operation and optimization. Provide after-hours support as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide effective, positive leadership to motivate a team of hourly production employees.
  • Ensure all EHS programs are followed and drive plant to cultural improvement where no employees get hurt.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate the manufacturing of products in compliance with company goals and objectives. Take leadership of plant operating daily metrics and MDI (managing for daily improvements) program.
  • Ability to analyze safety, quality and productivity issues and take corrective measures.
  • Make sure that inventory levels are accurate.
  • Learn to set up of various processing machinery.
  • Promptly and accurately completes all record keeping assignments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized department.
  • Ability to multi-task while dealing with multiple, competing priorities.
  • Coach employees for attainment of company and individual goals and objectives in accordance with Company guidelines and performance management system.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Projects, through analytical processes, strategic planning, critical evaluation and precise communications.
  • Other duties as assigned by Regional Operations Manager.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • BS Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of Plant Management, leadership support experience and minimum of 10 years of field experience.

SKILLS:

  • Microsoft software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), is required.
  • Proficient use of the Excel data analytics package preferred.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions during group meetings, happenings, etc.
