Job Title: Receptionist PACE

 

Job Summary

Perform receptionist duties for assigned department following department protocols and procedures. Assists with clerical duties as needed.

 

Essential Job Functions

· Handles all telephone calls, transfers calls to appropriate parties and greats and directs visitors.

· Transfers calls to voicemail or takes messages and delivers them to the appropriate person in a timely manner.

· Distributes incoming mail, copies and faxes documents in a timely manner.

· Emergency situations with clients/caregivers/providers are referred to appropriate parties.

· Maintains unit specific documentation as per department guidelines and regulatory standards.

· Provides assistance to staff and clerical support as needed.

· Attends department meetings and in-services as needed.

 

Job Requirements

Education:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Experience:

· 6 months of related experience preferably in a healthcare setting.

 

Licenses/Certifications:

· N/A

 

Abilities Required

· Proficient in Microsoft Office products

· Demonstrated ability to handle busy switchboard

· Costumer Service Skills, Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

· Knowledge of Medical Terminology

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Demonstrated caring attitude/ability to work with geriatric patients

Environment Work Conditions

· Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation

 

Infectious Material Exposure

· No routine exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues, but may occasionally require performing unplanned activities which may involve exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues.

PACE is a comprehensive, fully integrated, provider-based health program for those who require and a nursing home level of care. The PACE philosophy is centered on the belief that it is better for frail individuals and their families to be served in the community whenever possible.
