This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the hourly work force and site supervisors. This position is very instrumental in developing and maintaining the hourly work force, project development, planning, and execution. The Project Superintendent reports to the Operations Manager.

Requirements:

• Must possess more than 10 years of relevant experience in the Pulp & Paper industry.
• Must be able and willing to lead large groups of people and foster a positive team environment
• Good communication skills
• Strong ability to multi-task
• Must possess the ability to work well under high stress environments
• Must be willing to travel > 75%
• Must possess the ability and willingness to coach and mentor Supervisors and craftsmen
• Must be capable of building solid customer relationships

Primary Responsibilities:

• Direct responsibility for project execution.
• Overall responsibility for project team following Safety requirements.

• Build construction project schedules and track progress through the life of the project. (Engineering, Equipment/Material, Planning and Construction)

• Coordinate Work (Engineering, Crafts and Sub-Contractors)
• Prioritize Work
• Manage the Change Order process
• Keep Operations Manager updated on schedule conflicts and material procurement issues.
• Quality assurance and overall responsibility for bid proposals
• Direct supervisors on priorities of work
• Assist Operations Managers and Planners with scope development
• Develop Construction completion punch list.
• Manage sub-contractor performance
• Field contact for Project needs
