Job DescriptionJob Description

The Quality Manager is responsible for the implementation and improvement of Jacobi Carbons Quality Management System including managing continuous improvement in all facets of the production process. This position is located in Columbus, Ohio and reports directly to the Operations Director.

Essential Accountabilities:

· Manage and maintain the quality assurance standard procedures and methods.

· Manage, develop, and implement statistical tolerances and apply QA data generated by JCI laboratory.

· Manage the evaluation and classification of non-conforming products.

· Manage the evaluation and approval of product reclasses.

· Manage the completion of customer Supplied Part Approval Process documentation.

· Lead quality investigation of customer cases.

· Approve Certificate of Analysis for all third-party carbon purchases.

· Assist with the management and validation of third-party suppliers and products.

· Assist in the management of JCI’s ISO Quality Management System. This includes auditing business processes.

· Assist with the management of certifications related to quality or products for the facility.

· Assist with the approval of new or changed product specifications.

· Create certificates of analysis (COA) documents for material produced or shipped by JCI.

· Train and assist departmental champions in utilizing process flow diagrams, control plans, and PFMEAs.

· Train the production team to pick samples using our grain thief procedure.

· Work with the production team to optimize current product SOPs and create PMCPs for all products produced at JCI.

· Investigate JCI processes and systems and initiate continuous quality improvements.

· Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure a positive work atmosphere

Previous Work & Educational Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required

· Minimum of 5+ years of proven quality management experience preferred

· Experience managing ISO 9001 preferred

· Demonstrated ability to analyze and problem-solve independently

· Proficient in MS Office and NetSuite experience a plus

· Demonstrate ability to develop key relationships with the leadership team and peers

· Excellent oral & written communication skills

· Must have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently
