Job DescriptionJob Description

The Mechanic’s Helper assists Mechanics with a variety of duties including machine operation, sheet metal layout, basic fitting, gathering necessary tools and cleanup duties.

Requirements:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency

  • Skilled at basic shop math and able to add and subtract fractions

  • Ability to precisely read a tape measure

  • Able to operate simple machines and power equipment

  • Experience troubleshooting or using general mechanical aptitude to solve problems

  • Ability to travel to customer sites for installation and warranty work at a minimum of 25% annually

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand a minimum of 7.5 hours a day.

  • Ability to regularly lift and carry parts from 5 to 45 lbs. Occasionally up to 60 lbs. Hoists are available.

  • Frequent twisting, reaching, grasping and bending.

  • Ability to read blueprints, measuring tools and paperwork.

  • Ability to write to complete paperwork.

  • Good hand-eye coordination.
