PAY : $18-$24/hour

SHIFT : 2nd (2:00-10:30p) and 3rd (10:00p-6:30a)

Day to day

The mold setters are responsible for operating the overhead cranes to load molds into the machines, making sure all of the water lines, hydraulics, electrical lines, and everything are hooked up within the machine. They will be working along side 1-3 other mold setters supporting roughly 25+ machines throughout the shift.

 

What we are looking for:

We are looking for anyone that has experience with machine set up. The ideal candidate will have worked in plastics and set up molds within the machines, but we could look at someone who is a Die Setter (for stamping presses) or someone who is a set up tech for other types of machines. Ideally, this person will have experience operating overhead cranes, understand how to hook up electrical and hydraulic lines in machines, be able to do slight adjustments to programs, etc.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Hanging molds in a machine without causing damage to mold, machine, or environment
  • Use of clamps and torque specifications
  • Hooking up water lines, electrical cables, air hoses, ejector bars
  • Testing mold operation to ensure mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems work
  • Installing robot end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)
  • Installing/operating auxiliary equipment (hot stamp machines, label applicators, dryer, color cart, etc.)
  • Minor repairs (i.e., replace water fittings, repair electrical cables, etc.)
  • Performing a line clearance on the material system
  • Operating the press controller
  • Operating a forklift
  • Work safe knowledge of the equipment (i.e., crane movements, machine safeties, electricity, etc.)
  • Understanding of lifting limitations on the crane, lift straps, chains, and lift bolts
  • Reading and use of install documentation (i.e., water diagram, process data sheet, etc.)
  • Loading programs on the injection molding machine
  • Install requirements for special tooling (i.e., leveling a stack mold, center knockout bars, etc.)
