Position: Staff Accountant

Report to: Assistant Controller

The Staff Accountant prepares general journal entries, schedules and provided analysis in support of month close, quarterly reviews, and annual audits. This position may be asked to perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in month-end closing for each accounting cycle.
  • Handle necessary accruals
  • Manage wire activity
  • Review work of third-party accounting team - reclassify entries, make corrections
  • Collect royalties
  • Support AP Manager as needed
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records 
  • Prepare general journal entries and provide accounting and analytical support to management during the month-end close process.
  • Prepare schedules and analysis to support timely reporting and annual audits.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accounting principles as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Support management with special projects as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field 
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Hospitality/restaurant/retail accounting background
  • Must have strong analytical skills, good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
  • Ability to work extra hours during month end close and as needed.
  • Ability to work in collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business demands and project requests.
