Job Purpose: As a Social Media Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis of social media platforms to gather valuable insights, trends, and data relevant to our organization's objectives. Your role will involve monitoring social media channels, identifying emerging patterns, and providing actionable recommendations based on your findings. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform strategic decisions and enhance our social media presence.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Monitoring

    • Regularly monitor various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) to track conversations, trends, and user engagement related to our brand, industry, and relevant topics.

  • Data Collection and Analysis

    • Collect and analyze social media data using appropriate tools and techniques to identify key metrics, sentiment analysis, audience demographics, and emerging trends.

  • Competitor Analysis

    • Conduct thorough research on competitors' social media activities, content strategies, and audience engagement to benchmark performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Content Insights

    • Provide insights and recommendations for creating engaging and relevant content based on social media trends, user preferences, and audience behavior.

  • Audience Segmentation

    • Segment and analyze our social media audience to better understand their needs, preferences, and behaviors, and tailor content and messaging accordingly.

  • Campaign Evaluation

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of social media campaigns and initiatives by tracking relevant KPIs, analyzing performance metrics, and generating comprehensive reports.

  • Emerging Platforms

    • Stay updated on emerging social media platforms, tools, and trends to explore new opportunities for engagement and growth.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and other relevant teams to integrate social media insights into overall business strategies and initiatives.

  • Risk Management

    • Monitor social media channels for potential risks, including negative feedback, brand reputation issues, and crisis situations, and provide recommendations for mitigating risks and addressing concerns effectively.

  • Continuous Improvement

    • Identify areas for process improvement, explore new methodologies, and suggest innovative approaches to enhance social media research capabilities and outcomes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

  • Proven experience in social media research, analytics, or digital marketing, preferably in a similar industry or organization.

  • Proficiency in using social media monitoring tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, Brandwatch) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and draw actionable insights.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data findings into clear, concise reports and presentations.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a passion for exploring new ideas and trends in social media.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate insights to diverse stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with social media advertising platforms, SEO principles, and content marketing strategies is a plus.

  • Understanding of privacy regulations, data ethics, and best practices for handling sensitive information in social media research.
