Shift supervisor is responsible for the effective management and leadership of all production and production support personnel for their respective shift. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Trouble shoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality-maximum product output.
  2. Lead a team to execute daily production tasks, work scheduling, training and maintaining the plant.
  3. Perform problem solving to develop corrective actions and initiate continuous improvement.
  4. Co-ordinate tooling, equipment availability, repair and maintenance.
  5. Ensure safe work environment and cleanliness.
  6. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.
  7. Selection and development of production and support staff personnel.
  8. Provide support to staff as required.
  9. Verify new mold set-ups, start-ups and 1st piece approval.
  10. Monitor employee attendance, evaluations and take necessary disciplinary actions as required.
  11. Daily planning and coordination with the production manager to resolve any issues that would interfere with meeting quality and delivery requirements.
  12. Accuracy of the daily shift reports.
  13. Use Plex effectively. Placing product on hold, lot traceability, material adjustments and scrap tracking.
  14. Document any tool or machine damage that would happen on your shift and send to Production Manager.
  15. Complete Supervisor checklist daily.
  16. Other assignments as designated by the Production Manager.

QUALIFICATION:

  1. Excellent mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of plastic injection molding equipment, thermoplastic resins and injection molds.
  2. Knowledge of set-up and tear-down procedures of injection molds.
  3. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  4. Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment to monitor quality.
  5. Working knowledge of quality systems and procedures based on the ISO Standard.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 5 years progressive manufacturing/supervisory experience.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Microsoft Office – Excel, word.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

May engage in frequent bending, squatting, pushing of part containers and should be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Shift Supervisor reports to the Production Manager.


3rd shift Sunday-Thursday 10:15p-6:45am
