Reports to: Parts Department Manager or Aftermarket Manager
Supervises: None
Purpose:
Provides prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all customers. Performs a variety of customer service, marketing, promoting, and stocking duties related to the receiving, sale and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the dealership.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes and sells products and/or services to meet customer needs, greeting all customers promptly and courteously as they enter the store.
- Participates in rotation of emergency parts phone duties.
- Is required to report for duty as scheduled by management which may include additional hours during seasonal harvests or as needed.
- Verifies receipt of shipments and assists with placing Machine Down and stock orders in their proper inventory locations.
- Notify parts department manager of corrections to quantities and locations of parts, supersessions, memos etc.
- Properly tag defective merchandise including date and numbers and place in warranty area.
- Properly track lost sales and parts discrepancies, advising parts department manager of trends.
- Assist with manufacturer returns and stock clean-ups.
- Assist in returning all unsold merchandise immediately to the proper inventory location.
- Follow set company procedure on pricing and invoicing parts, completely finishing required documentation before disbursing parts.
- Follow set company procedure on cash, credit, and check processing.
- Assists with keeping department clean and orderly, including maintenance of departmental tools, equipment and vehicles.
- Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products, taking initiative to sell Honda and Stihl power equipment.
- Continues training and education as determined by management and stays current on new product bulletins and catalogs.
- Assists with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays to exceed dealership standards and customer expectations.
- Maintains a high level of customer service, conducting self in the presence of customers in a manner befitting the image of the company. This includes but is not limited to responding promptly to customer’s needs and managing difficult customer situations.
- Maintains a high level of personal hygiene and neat appearance.
- Keeps a positive attitude throughout each day and cooperates with all co-workers, vendors and customers to ensure a productive work environment, working to develop a sense of “team” among all departments.
- Works with integrity, always upholding company values.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
- Reports all problems affecting the customer relationship with the dealership to parts department manager and alerts other departments with customer concerns as well as potential sales opportunities.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment.
- Communicates improvement processes to management team.
- Promote and incorporate our core values of Teamwork, Integrity, Value, Improvement, Communication & Knowledge consistently in actions and communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic data entry, keyboarding and computer skills.
- Basic parts and merchandise knowledge.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
