Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings and assist the dentist in various procedures. The position will start off as part-time but has the potential to become full-time in the future.

Duties:
- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar, polishing teeth, and applying fluoride treatments
- Take dental x-rays
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for dental care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using our dental software system (Dentrix)
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care

Requirements:
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of New York
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist
- Proficiency taking x-rays
- Knowledge of dental office systems and procedures
- Familiarity with iTero is a plus
- Strong understanding of medical documentation and recordkeeping
- Excellent knowledge of oral anatomy and dental conditions
- Experience using Dentrix or similar dental software is preferred
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to educate patients on oral health practices
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate assistance
