SUMMARY: The Wastewater Supervisor is responsible for providing oversight for the wastewater operation at the Biodiesel plant in St. Joseph, MO. Responsible for ensuring continued compliance with local, state, and federal agencies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Coordinate and oversee wastewater operations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment by observing all local, state, and federal regulations regarding health, safety, and the environment. This includes all established plant and lab safety practices to ensure good housekeeping and hygiene practices are maintained.
  • Oversee waste disposal and treatment programs.
  • Perform regular inspections of wastewater equipment.
  • Stay updated with new developments in wastewater policies and regulations.
  • Identify and correct existing and potential process issue using proactive management and root cause analysis.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to maintain a successful wastewater process. Work with management to schedule periodic maintenance and upgrade activities.
  • Identify areas of improvements that will allow for a more streamlined wastewater process.
  • Maintain complete and clear documentation of the wastewater process as required by all outside regulatory agencies.
  • Provide documented training for operations technicians.
  • Drive company goals and initiatives thru proven leadership skills and regular communication with plant employees
  • .Actively participates as a member of the facility response team.
  • Other duties may be assigned at managements discretion.

REQUIREMENTS: A successful candidate must possess the ability to perform each essential duty to a satisfactorily level. High school diploma or GED required.

  • Wastewater Level II (or higher) Certification preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
  • 5+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and write clear, accurate, and concise reports and business correspondence using standard Microsoft Office programs with effective presentation skills. Must possess the ability to solve problems and evaluate process logistics.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with plant management and provide analysis as needed. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to move from place to place to all areas of production. Must be able to climb ladders or platforms and enter confined spaces. Must be able to wear all safety equipment. 

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Days/M-F. The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasional changes in schedule may be required as special circumstances arise.
