Salary Grade: Business Grade 07/ BG-07

Position Summary: Under the guidance from the Executive Director of Family, Community, and Youth Empowerment, the Family Advocacy Coordinator provides guidance for pursuing meaningful participation to build family and community engagement for each of the TPS (pre-K - 12) district schools, families, school administration/staff and community partners. This position will provide coordination support for parent and family engagement and the coordination of volunteers at the district and in schools to maintain compliance with Title I and ESSA family engagement policies through program evaluation and assessment. Establishes and maintains a database for district and school site volunteer/community partner work and assists in monitoring volunteer and community partner adherence to district policy and procedures governing volunteer participation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human relations or related field or the
combination of equivalent work experience and education in lieu of degree
• Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
• Two (2) years experience in K-12 settings that serve low-income students and
communities
• Previous leadership experience
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:
• Working knowledge of Title I Federal regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Proficient in Spanish preferred
