We are seeking an experienced and strategic Public Relations Manager to spearhead paid, owned, and earned media efforts for our clients' renewable energy projects in rural communities across the United States. In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive PR campaigns to build positive brand reputation, promote our clients' initiatives, and foster strong relationships with local media outlets serving these rural areas.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Public Relations Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement effective PR strategies tailored to our clients' renewable energy projects in rural regions.

  • Identify opportunities for media coverage, thought leadership, and community engagement across channels.

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and positioning.

2. Media Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local media organizations serving rural communities where clients' projects are located.

  • Act as the primary contact for media inquiries, interviews, and press events related to clients' projects.

  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials for clients.

  • Organize and coordinate press conferences, community events, and interviews for clients' projects.

3. Content Creation and Distribution:

  • Develop compelling content, including press releases, articles, speeches, and other materials, to support clients' PR needs.

  • Leverage opportunities for earned media coverage and content placement related to clients' projects.

  • Manage clients' owned media channels, including project websites, social media platforms, and community outreach materials.

4. Paid Media Management:

  • Plan and execute paid media campaigns to increase visibility and awareness of clients' renewable energy projects.

  • Coordinate with advertising agencies and media buyers to place strategic advertisements in relevant local media outlets.

  • Analyze and optimize paid media performance to maximize return on investment for clients.

5. Crisis Communication:

  • Develop crisis communication plans to effectively manage potential issues or negative publicity surrounding clients' projects.

  • Serve as a spokesperson for clients during crisis situations, ensuring transparent and timely communication with local communities.

6. Reporting and Analytics:

  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, public perception, and brand sentiment related to clients' projects.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to refine PR strategies and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on PR activities, media coverage, and campaign performance to clients.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Public Relations Manager or a similar role, preferably with experience in the renewable energy or sustainability sectors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and tailor messages for diverse rural audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills to build and maintain relationships with media professionals, community stakeholders, and clients.

  • Knowledge of various media channels, including traditional, digital, and paid media platforms.

  • Proficiency in media monitoring tools, social media management, advertising platforms, and analytics software.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple client projects simultaneously.

  • Strong problem-solving and crisis-management skills.

  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and sustainability practices is a plus.
