Retail Sales Manager at Fur Baby Pet Resort

ASSISTANT RETAIL MANAGER
Our expectations for performance output are very high. We require solid, measurable, and consistent results. Additionally, you will have access to advanced level learning and development in communication and leadership tools. This is a dual position, being responsible for answering phone calls professionally and appropriately, scheduling all services, checking in and checking out guests as well as accepting payments for services. They are also responsible for the retail pet grocery, including all aspects of running a sales floor (solution selling, customer services issues, stocking, etc). Our Retail Manager is also expected to learn about or have a current knowledge on dog breeds, life stages, behaviors, health as well as diets, foods and nutrition. Our Manager should have a basic knowledge of all of our services as to help determine scheduling and answer customer inquiries.
Someone who would thrive in this position would be a master multi-tasker, who can handle multiple projects as well as customers at the same time. Someone who is successful under pressure and can keep a calm and professional demeanor even in stressful situations. You must be comfortable in a fast pace environment, and work with dogs and cats drooling, shedding, jumping and just generally being animals You must also, above all, have a sincere love for animals in any form or size.

As our Assistant Retail Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our Pet Retail—from head to tail. From hiring & training knowledgeable associates to executing on strategic initiatives, you’ll set the standard of success within our store and bring joy to our team. It’s no easy feat, but every day you come in to work you’ll take pride in knowing that you're making a real difference for our team, our pet parents, and the pets in our care.
ABOUT OUR TEAMS:
In a store as big as ours, we need all hands (and paws) on deck to ensure we are operating efficiently. So, as an Assistant Retail Manager, you’ll help lead the team in the following areas:
Team Members: As a leader in the store, you’ll help to hire and train new team members on all things Fur Baby You’ll engage with and motivate them to continue to grow their skills and knowledge throughout their career.
Pet Parent Engagement: You’ll work with your teams to build strong relationships with our pet parents and pets and ensure their safety and well-being within the facility. This also includes taking care of our guests and ensuring our retail store is stocked with merchandise.
Overall Retail Initiatives: In partnership with your Store & Retail Manager, you’ll execute on all strategic merchandising initiatives, drive sales, and set standards of success within our retail store.

Essential Job Functions:
• Answering phones and general inquires
• Scheduling client daycare, boarding and grooming appointments
• Data Entry with software for all services
• Client check in and check out for all services
• Organizing and cleaning of retail store and cash wrap
• Retail stocking and merchandising
• Retail Displays & Merchandising
• Assisting customers with making decisions about food and treats for their dogs and nutrition.
