JOB TITLE:                Field Service Tech

 

DEPARTMENT:         Field Service

 

 

 

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Engaged in the assembly of parts or sub-assemblies into automation systems; installation, debug, runoff and other support and service-related activities, as required.

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

 

• Perform installation of and service on FlexLink production logistics solutions systems

• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet customers’ expectations

• Identifies process, efficiency, and cost improvements

• Ensures OSHA and customer site-specific safety requirements are followed

• Works within approved budgets, including budgeted hours

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Knowledge

 

• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals 

• General knowledge of electrical voltage, wiring and conduit, specifically:

oAC and DC voltage, 3 phase high and low voltage

o 24VDC control voltage

o Wireway installation for AC and DC voltage

o Actuator Sensor Interface (AS-i)

o ControlNet (Fieldbus)

o SEW Eurodrive motors/gearboxes and Movimot

• Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix and RC Linx is a plus

• Ability to perform preventative or corrective maintenance on robotics systems and components and pneumatic devices (Festo)

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

• Ability to properly move and lift equipment using rigging practices

 

 

 

 

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures 

• Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions

 

 

• General computer skills, Microsoft Word (for trip reports and company communications), and Teams.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

• Ability to analyze cycle time data to determine if a system is performing at the desired speed and efficiency

• Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events

• Strong drive toward quality and customer satisfaction

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

One (1) to three (3) years related service/installation experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment/company, focused on electrical and mechanical trouble shooting with experience dealing directly with the customer.

 

 

 

Travel requirements

 

• Employee will be required to travel- 95%

 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

• Current driver’s license.

• Current fork lift license a plus

• Extended travel time and flying on a regular basis
