Registered Nurse (RN) - Obstetric Care Unit (OCU) Specialty

Join Our Healthcare Team at Catawba Service Unit in Rock Hill, SC

We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with Obstetric Care Unit (OCU) specialty to join our healthcare team at Catawba Service Unit. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality patient care to our community, focusing on obstetric and newborn infant care.

  • Facility: Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility
  • Pay rate: $76-77/ hour + Stipends
  • Possible Starting Date: July 1, 2024
  • Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Contract length: 1 year; with the option to extend.
  • Shifts details: 11.5 Hours for days, 12 hours for nights; totaling 6-7 shifts/2 week period, including weekends, holidays, rotating day and night shifts, as scheduled by the SCN based on the unit’s needs for coverage.
    With one hour lunch for day shift and thirty minutes for night shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nursing duties as described in the Position Description (PD) and directed by the Supervisor.
  • Provide a full range of obstetrical and newborn infant care to patients admitted to Obstetric Care Unit (OCU).
  • Apply the nursing process to provide individualized, goal-oriented nursing care to laboring, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn patients.
  • Exercise knowledge of scientific, psychosocial nursing theory, and social-cultural needs of Indian patients.
  • Recognize complications and implement appropriate nursing/therapeutic interventions for obstetrical and newborn infants.
  • Analyze medical procedures results and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate effectively within the healthcare team and with patients and their families.
  • Provide appropriate documentation of care rendered using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Follow facility policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in direct patient care, preferably in obstetric care.
  • 3+ Years of experience as a RN.
  • Mandatory Certifications (American Heart Association).
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) and Fetal Monitoring Certification.
  • Cultural sensitivity training, especially with Native American populations (preferred).
  • Knowledge of EHR systems and ability to utilize them effectively.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
