Grants Director

Our non-profit client is seeking a temp to hire Grants Director. You will play pivotal role within their organization, reporting directly to the President/CEO. This position oversees all fiscal operations, grants management, and nonprofit accounting. Your responsibilities will span financial reporting, budget development, compliance, audit, and tax return oversight. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.  Expected starting base salary $60 to $70 per hour.

Responsibilities:

•  Lead the annual audit and Form 990 process.

• Monitor internal controls, develop policies, and ensure adherence to GAAP and government grants accounting.

• Cultivate relationships with bankers, funders, internal teams, and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with the leadership team and department directors to prepare and lead the budget process.

• Monitor grants revenue and expenditures.

• Interface with the Board of Directors as needed, supporting financial presentations.

• Oversee the accounting team, providing direct supervision, evaluation, and discipline.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in team management, professional development, and mentorship. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

• Demonstrated expertise in federal, state, and local government grants funding.

• Effective multitasking, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with performance-related databases and emerging information technology.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.

• 2+ years of experience as a Director of Grants and Accounting or similar position.

• 2+ years of nonprofit government grants management and accounting.
