Job Summary:
- The Glass Technician assists with the fabrication of fire-rated Glass.
- This includes but is not limited to operating a Cutting Table, Product Assembly via Glass Wash, Glass Inspection Station, Sealer, Spacer Bar Saw, quality inspection and packaging.
- This individual is responsible for effectively working as part of the production team while adhering to safety, quality, housekeeping, and productivity standards.
Essential Functions:
- Working within assigned function, including but not limited to operating a cutting table, Product Assembly via Glass Wash, Glass Inspection Station, Sealer, Spacer Bar Saw, quality inspection and packaging
- Performing quality checks on product
- Participating in daily meetings for work instructions and production handoff between shifts
- Maintaining a clean work area, managing to 5S standards
Quals--
What do you bring?
- High School or GED preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Experience working as part of a team
- Experience following quality and safety standards
- Experience handling Glass either in Production or Installation environments
- Experience operating a forklift or crane preferred
- Experience operating Glass Production Machinery desirable
- Experience with the fabrication, installation and/or assembly of Glass a plus
- Experience with 5S preferred
- Commitment to working safely and adhering to all safety standards
- Attention to detail and ability to closely monitor work process to quality standards
- Physical ability to perform repetitive motions and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to accept direction and communicate effectively while being open-minded and flexible
- Ability to ask questions and proactively communicate problems to supervision
- Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures
- Ability to fill out production paperwork
- Ability to use a tape measure, basic hand tools, and basic power tools
- Reliable with excellent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to effectively work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to train others in assigned work process
- Ability to balance precise work, accuracy, and productivity
- Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues
- Flexibility to work overtime or varying shifts, if needed
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
