Join Harger Lightning & Grounding, a leader in the lightning protection industry. We are looking for Quality Manager in our Grayslake facility to provide results driven leadership to the Quality Management System. This includes planning, resource management, scheduling, training, best practices, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

As the Quality Manager you will collaborate with upper management to set quality benchmarks. You will also create and maintain standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Identify quality control processes to ensure criteria are met at all times.
  • Execute tests to check final product adherence to the company standards.
  • Record findings and relay this information to the production and management team.
  • Brainstorm ideas to increase productivity and performance of the production line while maintaining accuracy in quality.
  • Make crucial decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • Direct and monitor team members in measuring and testing products.

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in quality engineering, engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work related experience with at least 1 of those years in a supervisory role.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience (including Six sigma training) and/or certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 family of quality management system standards.
  • Ability to coach and mentor on an individual and group basis
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure, caliper, micrometer, hardness tester and other quality control equipment for measurement and analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills and organization skills.
