Kingspan Light + Air is an award-winning innovator of high-performance daylighting and ventilation solutions for building envelopes. Our translucent walls, skylights, canopies, and smoke vents are engineered to optimize the role that natural light and air play in the design of buildings and the health and well-being of its occupants.

To help us continue to grow our offerings, we’re searching for a Drafter to design skylight configurations according to the customer-provided architectural drawings. You will submit these design drawings along with a bill of materials and answer any technical/design questions for the sales department. You are the creative arm of our organization, bringing your designs to gyms, airports, schools and many other buildings around the country.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare submittal drawings from sales quotations and project specifications.
• Establish yourself as a product expert in order to solve architectural design issues, product functionality, and product fabrication issues.
• Provide bill of materials and methods of manufacturing to production staff via internal computer system.
• Support sales department on technical issues relating to all product lines and assist sales teams on architectural visits when necessary.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in product or architectural design.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor software required.
• Ability to learn and develop expertise in products and internal production processes.
• High level of math and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and timely manner.
