We are searching for an Xray Technologist to join our team
Radiographers work with doctors to treat patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly. Some common tasks and duties include:
- Assessing, evaluating, and testing patients
- Preparing and positioning patients for imaging
- Attending to patient needs during imaging procedures
- Applying and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of radiation protection and safety practices
- operating c-arm machine to assist provider for pain procedures
- operating radio-frequency machine for Radio frequency ablation procedure
- x ray guided facet blocks
Specializations
Radiologic technologists can specialize in many different areas, included:
- spine - injections
- cervial -injections
Responsibilities
• Interpreting the order for the test to determine what body parts need imaging
• Explaining the test to patients and positioning them to make the test possible
• Setting the controls on C -arm equipment in preparation for imaging
• Checking C-arm images and retaking them as needed to ensure clarity
• Cleaning and performing routine maintenance tasks to keep equipment operating smoothly
• Sending X-ray images to other medical providers for reading
• Inventorying and stocking films and radiologic supplies
• Updating patient records with pertinent information
Skills:
• Strong oral communication skills to provide clear instructions to patients during testing
• Critical thinking skills to interpret orders
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot problems with equipment
• Attentive to detail to set equipment properly and maintain accurate records
• Observational skills to spot problems with images and ensure that patients remain correctly positioned
• Working knowledge of C-arm and Radiofrequency equipments of safety precautions and infection control best practices
• Understanding of radiologic science, anatomy and complex medical terminology related to X-rays, and C-arm
