Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Operator - 2nd Shift

A large, privately owned electronics manufacturing company is expanding and seeking an AOI Operator for their 2nd Shift. In this role, you will operate the Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machine and review identified defects for accuracy. The company operates in a 77,000-square-foot facility with approximately 120 employees.

Location: Moorpark, CA
Position: Full-time, temp-to-hire
Salary: $24.00 - $28.00/hr (DOE)
Schedule: Tue-Fri, 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM (4/10 schedule), Sat-Mon off
Benefits: Extensive benefits package available

Responsibilities

  • Review AOI inspections for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement, and solder joint defects.
  • Load programs as per documentation.
  • Inspect populated printed circuit boards using magnification aids and stereomicroscopes, identifying component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Recognize and communicate problems in the operation process or with components for immediate correction.
  • Adhere to the quality process outlined in the Quality Manual.
  • Regularly assist in 3D AOI programming.

Requirements

  • Experience in quality control and part identification.
  • Successful completion of ESD Safety training.
  • Knowledge and/or skill in operating equipment used in the area.
  • Soldering experience towards IPC-J-STD-001 is helpful.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to sit and stand for the majority of the day.
  • Ability to read and understand routers, assembly drawings, component identification, and component polarity.
  • Basic PC knowledge.
