Valytics LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Proposal Writer/Manager to join our team. You will play a critical role in managing and writing high-quality, competitive technical and administrative proposals in response to government and commercial tenders. Your research skills, ability to identify win themes, and talent for developing compelling proposal outlines and content will be instrumental in our bid success. Your attention to detail in editing and proofreading, along with organizational skills in coordinating proposal submissions, will be crucial in our company delivering consistently polished proposals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the proposal development process: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop winning proposals in response to government RFPs. This includes outlining the proposal structure, assigning sections to subject matter experts, and ensuring all proposals are complete, compliant, and submitted on time.
  • Manage the proposal timeline: Develop and manage the proposal schedule, conduct regular status updates with the Business Development Team/Management, and ensure all milestones and deadlines are met. This includes managing correspondence and submittals throughout the RFP process.
  • Write and edit proposal content: Draft key sections of the proposal, such as the executive summary, management approach, and past performance. Review and edit content provided by others to ensure clarity, consistency, compelling narrative, accuracy, branding, and focus throughout the proposal.
  • Coordinate reviews and revisions: Organize internal reviews, consolidate feedback, and manage the revision process to continually improve the proposal.
  • Track and report on proposal metrics: Maintain our proposal and content repository, update RFP files, track key metrics (e.g., win rate, hit rate), and provide regular reporting and analysis to help refine our proposal strategy.
  • Conduct research and analysis: Analyze the RFP requirements, conduct competitor research, and work with our team to identify win themes and a unique value proposition for each proposal. Work with partner organizations to define proposal processes across brands (and when cross-selling opportunities arise).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field required
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must reside in Virginia, Maryland, or DC Metro Area
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in proposal writing and management, preferably in the government contracting industry
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft compelling, persuasive content under tight deadlines
  • Ability to focus on storytelling and identifying win themes
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with proposal management tools, such as SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of creating and formatting graphics needed for response
  • Understanding of the government procurement process, RFP requirements, and compliance factors
  • Experience with federal government contracts and FAR/DFAR regulations
  • Ability to think strategically, critically, and creatively to develop innovative proposals
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, program managers, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
