Draftsman

Architectural Precast concrete manufacturer specializing in custom architectural and landscape masonry products is seeking a qualified person for a full time, in-house, position of draftsman/project manager with experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have the ability to clearly read, interpret and understand Architectural, Landscape & occasionally Structural drawings & project specifications, and then produce detailed fabrication drawings with accurate and clearly labeled measurements, guides, materials, finished and piece mark specifications. Job duties include the entire process of transitioning from design concept to preparation of production ready shop drawings and individual shop tickets and piece count stone schedules including:

• Resolve design problems in collaboration with client's project manager/architect
• Preparation of material order list
• Explain concepts & drawings to finish carpenters for mold making
• Strong background in AutoCAD 2D design and drafting
• Keen attention to details, tolerances and specifications
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with outside vendors providing them with clear instruction of what is to be produced
• Knowledge of masonry industry a plus
• Able to create piece count lists, cut lists and material takeoffs
• Minimum 3 years of experience of drafting and design
• Pay will be based on experience
