Job DescriptionJob Description

Pride Health is hiring for a Certified Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Detroit, MI . This is a 3-month Contract role with a possibility of extension and conversion into a full time, opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Physician with injections and EKG's
  • Patient Care:
    1. Perform initial-response screening following protocols approved by supervising
    provider.
    2. Escort patient to room and prepares patient for examination, procedure, and
    treatment.
    3. Obtain vital signs and record in the electronic health record (EHR).
    4. Obtain and record patient history employing critical thinking skills.
    5. Prepare for, set up and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments per
    protocols, policies, and procedures.
    6. Prepare, administer, and document oral, parenteral medications, and immunizations
    as ordered by the supervising provider, documenting administration following the six
    rights in the EHR while maintaining accurate medication & immunization records.
    7. Document care provided during patient visit in EHR.
    8. Recognize and respond to emergencies.
    9. Actively monitors & respond timely to patient requests via telephone encounter, In
    Basket message and/or My Chart according to identified time frames and documents
    responses in the EHR.
    10. Enter medication, radiology, and lab orders in the electronic health record for
    provider sign off.
    11. Discharge patient providing after visit instructions to patient and/or caregiver as
    directed by the provider.
    12. Enter medication refill orders per protocol.

Education/Requirements:

  • High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant and BLS license required

Must have qualifications/experience:

  • Must be Certified Medical Assistant
  • Minimum 1 year experience

Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Detroit, MI 
Schedule: M-F 8 am to 5 pm
Pay Range: $17 to $19/hr

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
