The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst and Queens is seeking a full time (40 hours per week) BC/BE Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join the growing Divisions of Ophthalmology at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York and Queens Hospital Center in Jamaica, New York.

 

The Elmhurst and Queens Hospital Center Departments of Ophthalmology invite applications for a faculty position in the Pediatric Ophthalmology Division. Applicants will be eligible for a faculty appointment and should have experience in resident education and exemplary patient care. Creative scholarship is also required. Candidates should be fellowship trained in a related discipline and board certified.

 

We are seeking a pediatric ophthalmologist with expertise in caring for children, seeing and treating complex pediatric ophthalmology patients in the outpatient clinic setting as well as an interest in teaching. ROP screening is required, and there is collaboration for ROP treatment with retina services. There are a wide variety of opportunities for program development and academic advancement in the areas of general pediatric ophthalmology, quality & safety and medical education. The hospitals are easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.

 

We offer faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. Candidates should be BC/BE in Ophthalmology, have completed or will complete prior to starting position a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology, and possess a valid New York State license and DEA. Medical fluency in additional languages is helpful but not a requirement.
