Take your HVAC skillset to the next level This is an Engineering Trainee position where you’ll gain extensive experience in the understanding of energy technologies by designing and administrating electrical and mechanical projects. With this position, you would be eligible for our Tech-to-Engineer Program, with our company paying for 2 classes per semester at NJIT. You would obtain a fully paid Bachelors in Engineering degree over a 6 year period while working here. This would be an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

You’ll learn the International Construction Code and use it extensively. You’ll complete and submit permit packages and interface with Municipal Construction Offices around the state. You’ll perform residential & commercial building Heat Load Analyses. You’ll perform energy audits for NJ Clean Energy commercial & industrial energy programs. Design and commission Home Performance with Energy Star projects. Design and commission PHIUS Passive House, Zero Energy Ready Homes, Energy Star Homes, airPLUS and WaterSense projects. Perform electrical load analysis for standby generators and EV Chargers. Design solar arrays and battery backup systems. Design water-to-water and water-to-air geothermal and energy-exchange systems. Design Cold-Climate Air Source Heat Pump systems. Complete combustion venting and gas risers calculations and diagrams. Design duct and hydronic/radiant systems. Use Microsoft Office, Autodesk AutoCAD, Sketchup, Wrightsoft, THERM, WUFI, SnuggPro software. This is mostly an inside position. You should feel comfortable math and using software and office applications. You need to have a good driver’s license. Mostly, you should have the desire to advance your career and life.
