Job Title: Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

 

Dümmen Orange is the world’s largest breeder and propagator of cut flowers, bulbs, tropical plants, pot plants, bedding plants and perennials. For our Accounting department in Columbus, OH, we are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist.

 

Job objective

The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist works in the accounting department to provide administrative and bookkeeping support. They are in charge of managing all communications and collections relating to invoices and past due accounts. The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist processes payments, enters related information into the accounting system, creates accounts receivable and sales analysis reports and also serves as back up to the manager.

 

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Communicates with customers to obtain payment status and arrange for payment plans when necessary.
  • Works with sales personnel and management on customer accounts.
  • Maintain accounting databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed.
  • Perform credit checks and new customer setup also updating customer accounts as necessary.
  • Monitor and release orders based on customer account status also placing accounts on credit hold when necessary.
  • Work from weekly aging reports generated to follow up on past due accounts.
  • Responsbile for making accounts receivable adjustments on customer accounts.
  • Applies customer payments from customer’s checks and ACH payments.
  • Responsible for researching and reconciling customer accounts as necessary.
  • Serves as backup within the accounts receivable department and to the manager.
  • Assist with training of other accounts receivable specialists.
  • Other accounting and office duties as requested.

 

Your profile

· 3-5+ years of accounts receivable and general office experience.

· Knowledge of office administration and procedures.

· Knowledge of general accounting concepts.

· Intermediate knowledge of computerized accounting software.

· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

· Working experience with Microsoft Navision or Business Central (a plus).

 

Working Conditions

  • Prolonged sitting at workstation in a well-lit open office
  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds of paper and miscellaneous supplies
