Pay Range: $25/hr to $35/hr

We're seeking a CNC Machinist / Programmer for a leading manufacturer of industrial equipment in Glenwood, IL. You'll play a vital role in performing daily setups, operating, and programming CNC Mazak mill and lathe machines to make unique components and parts for different projects.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Operator, CNC Setup/Operator, or a related role where you have to set up, run and program CNC mills & lathes.
  • Proficient in setting up and operating CNC lathes or mills.
  • Able to work closely with engineers and machinists and maintain ongoing communications.
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints of parts.
  • Understanding GD&T and the machining of complex parts would be a major plus.
  • Experience with determining tooling/gaging requirements.

Pluses:

  • Ability to write CNC Programs from scratch.
  • Experience with Mazak CNC machines.
  • CAM experience (HSMWorks)
  • Working in a high mix/low volume work environment, producing precision, or custom components.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate and program the CNC lathes or mill machines.
  • Use data supplied by engineering.
  • Choose proper cutters and drills based on parameters of each specific job.
  • Observe progress of machining and watch for errors; inspect finished work for accuracy.
  • Work with engineering to develop specialized procedures for non-routine jobs.
  • Lead team and develop role within company.
  • Working independently after ramp up or training period.
