As a Drilling Assistant, you will be an integral member of our drilling crew and play a critical role in the success of our operations. You will work alongside experienced drillers and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of drilling, including site preparation, set-up, and maintenance of drilling equipment, and data collection.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and set-up of drilling sites, including laying out equipment, erecting derricks, and positioning drill rigs.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on drilling equipment, including changing bits, lubricating machinery, and replacing worn parts.
- Assist with collecting and analyzing geological and drilling data, including taking samples and recording observations.
- Operate drilling equipment under the supervision of experienced drillers.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety procedures and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 10 years of experience in an outdoor labor-intensive role.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work long hours, often in adverse weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel and work on remote drilling sites.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Salary: $28,000 to $43,000 yearly
