Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to manage the daily operations of shipping and receiving. This role is responsible for processing outgoing shipments, receiving incoming deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the organization of the warehouse and dock areas. The ideal candidate will be efficient, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth and timely logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and customer requirements
  • Accurately document shipments and inventory changes using the company’s systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely processing of orders and deliveries
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness and order of the warehouse and dock areas
  • Coordinate with freight carriers and couriers to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries
  • Track and report on shipping/receiving data, including discrepancies or delays
  • Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the logistics team

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Forklift certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Familiarity with inventory management software (preferred)

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for the duration of a shift
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold and hot environments
  • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced warehouse setting
