Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: Quality Manager

Job Summary: The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet high-quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This role involves leading quality improvement initiatives, conducting thorough inspections and tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with various departments to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. The Senior Quality Engineer will serve as a key resource on all quality-related matters and work closely with 6-8 other quality engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key resource on all quality requirements, processes, procedures, issues, investigations, etc., working with 6-8 other quality engineers.
  • Assist Quality Management with leading key continuous improvement quality type projects.
  • Apply statistical methods to collect data, analyze, interpret, and summarize information to increase production efficiency.
  • Work directly with external and internal customers to address and resolve questions, concerns, requirements, complaints, and rejects.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments on quality issues, address them with urgency, and drive corrective actions to implementation and verification.
  • Support the inspection department, internal investigations, and dispositioning of material.
  • Conduct internal audits, customer audits, customer visits, and supplier audits as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
  • Proficient in statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with internal and external audits.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
  • Certification in quality engineering (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt).
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices).
