Cost Estimator

The Fabrication Cost Estimator will work closely with Customers, Vendors, Sales, Engineering, and Production to gather data that will be used to estimate the value of our products. The Fabrication Cost Estimators role will also include follow up and evaluation of open and closed quotations.
Fabrication Cost Estimator Responsibilities:
- Estimating the cost of existing and new parts
- Communicating with vendors to find material and pricing
- Presenting and selling company products and services to new and existing customers
- Resolving customer inquiries and complaints
- Managing a quote log
Fabrication Cost Estimator Requirements:
- Experience in estimating, sales and customer service in an industrial steel manufacturing setting
- Able to read engineered drawings
- Able to read and interpret weld symbols
- AutoCAD experience
- Computer proficient
- Able to build rapport with clients
- Strong negotiation skills
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Mechanical engineering experience in is a plus
- ERP experience required, Epicor is a plus

Work Environment:
· Mix of on shop floor and in office setting.
· This position is in a manufacturing setting using the usual office equipment like computers, phones, printers, copy machines, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Starting salary: $60,000 per year
Expected hours: 40-54 per week

Schedule:
- 5 x 8-hour shift

Experience:
- Blueprint reading: 5 years (Required)
- AutoCAD: 1 year (Required)
- ERP systems: 5 years (Required)
- Steel Fabrication: 5 years (Required)
- Reading and interpreting weld symbols: 5 years (Required)
- Microsoft Office: 5 years (Required)
