We are currently seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team and oversee our operational processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and adherence to quality standards.

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Property Paving, Inc. will be pivotal in maintaining and repairing our fleet of construction vehicles, machinery, and light trucks. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance, be skilled in various mechanical repairs, and have a thorough understanding of construction equipment operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and Repair: Analyze malfunctions, perform repairs, and conduct diagnostics on equipment as required.
  • Maintenance Inspections: Oversee and conduct routine maintenance inspections on heavy construction equipment and light trucks.
  • Equipment Operation Knowledge: Apply knowledge of heavy site construction equipment, including operation, maintenance, capability, use, and function.
  • Defect Diagnosis: Operate and inspect machines or equipment to identify and diagnose defects.
  • Documentation: Prepare all necessary reports and forms associated with job assignments.
  • Parts Management: Identify parts needs, place orders, and ensure timely availability of required components.
  • Reporting: Report additional work required on equipment to the manager.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform standard and preventive vehicle maintenance to ensure reliability and longevity.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring work is performed in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Work following federal/provincial and corporate guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT regulations).
  • System Knowledge: Demonstrate a working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Welding Skills: Utilize MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques as needed.
  • Independent Work: Work independently and manage daily activities according to the established work schedule.

Education & Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience with heavy equipment and diesel capabilities.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with various construction equipment including Cat skid steers, Cat Rollers, Lee Boy Asphalt Pavers, Case Backhoes, John Deere Skid Loaders, Mack and International Dump Trucks, Reclaimers, Chevy 3500 diesel trucks, small engines/equipment, and trailers.
  • Licensing: CDL Class A or B.
