We are looking for an experienced Finance Director – North America

We are expanding North America business with a significant growth agenda. With revenues of over $120m and operations at two manufacturing facilities (Gray Court, SC and Ingleside, IL), we employ over 200 people.

The Finance Director is a key leadership role within the organization contributing to the ongoing development of the business. This position reports and works closely with the President and senior management team and will support both sites and will be responsible all key financial activities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Work closely with the President and the local senior management team, contributing to the management and development of the business.
  • Act as a visible role model within the business and support a performance culture.
  • Provide strong leadership of the finance function, assuming responsibility for all aspects of corporate, state and federal governance, planning and control.
  • This position will serve as Corporate Officer, Treasurer, and 401K Trustee.
  • Serve as an advisor, leader and educator of finance.
  • Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships - demonstrate an ability to listen, inspire and challenge.

Performance Insight

  • Responsible for key financial activities, including billing, AR, AP, inventory, cash flow, financial statements (Monthly Reporting).
  • Understand where and how the business creates value. Continually challenge the business to improve financial and operational performance and ensure management responds quickly and effectively to any problems or adverse trends.
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of all finance functions and specifically focus on standardization of information and ensure the right control mechanisms are implemented and in line with Group procedures.

Value Creation

  • Challenge and support the commercial teams to better understand customer profitability and support the development of the overall sales and margin strategy.
  • Challenge and support the operational teams to better understand asset performance, productivity and fibre efficiency (waste, overweight etc.).
  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiency and help drive decision making to the lowest level.Champion the drive to reduce working capital across the business, ensuring the development and execution of plans to deliver on agreed targets.

 Planning and Control

  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting and planning processes ensuring tight financial control is maintained over the business in relation to key financial performance indicators.
  • Guide and control capital expenditure (control and returns) and working capital within the business to support the management of the overall cash position.

 Qualifications/Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in a senior accounting/finance role with progressive movement of relevant scale and complexity.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of IFRS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong intellect; analytical and strategic planning skills combined with commercial outlook.
  • Excellent corporate skills; Understanding Global Functions & Processes.
  • A team player high in confidence but with a pleasant, honest, straightforward and down to earth manner.
  • Good people leadership skills, capable of building excellent working relationships with the Group and across the business. Hands on a must.  
  • Maturity and depth to provide functional leadership to the finance team throughout the company (both sites).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills; must be able to communicate clearly with all levels
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
  • Some travel may be occasionally required
