Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a Charge Nurse to join our team You will be responsible for rendering both pre-operative and post operative nursing care at a performance level which is satisfactory to both physicians and facility management. 

Responsibilities:

  • Admit patient's pre-op, prepare for surgery physically and emotionally.
  • Follow Doctors orders re: IVs and medications
  • Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
  • Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
  • Perform vital signs, auscultate lungs/heart with knowledge of normal/abnormal results
  • Knowledgeable of the physiological and anatomical aspects of the surgical procedure
  • Provide Assistance tot he Surgeon and Anesthesiologist as necessary.
  • Circulates in the operating room
  • Able to Assist in a patient emergency and follow BCLS/ACLS protocol
  • Narcotic inventory management and waste
  • Recovery of post-operative patients 
  • Preparing patients for discharge

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • Current Arizona State license
  • Stable and Capable of performing in emergency situations 
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • CPR certification
  • Must be able to handle physical demands placed on them by patients
