Paralegal/Legal Secretary
Duties + Responsibilities
- Transcribe correspondence and pleadings (federal & state courts)
- Schedule depositions with attorneys; schedule court reporters; schedule client appointments
- Open new client files & prepare initial correspondence and pleadings
- Telephone conversations with clients, adjusters, court, court reporters, attorneys
- Prepare subpoenas
- Arrange service of subpoenas and monitor affidavits of service
- Draft Discovery, including Interrogatories and Request for Documents for attorney review
- Assist clients with preparation of discovery responses
- Prepare documents for production
- Assist with preparation of trial notebooks
- Scan, Fax, Photocopy and bates-stamp documents
- Other duties as requested
Qualifications + Experience Required
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word and Excel;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient Proofreading skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each
