Paralegal/Legal Secretary

Duties + Responsibilities

  • Transcribe correspondence and pleadings (federal & state courts)
  • Schedule depositions with attorneys; schedule court reporters; schedule client appointments
  • Open new client files & prepare initial correspondence and pleadings
  • Telephone conversations with clients, adjusters, court, court reporters, attorneys
  • Prepare subpoenas
  • Arrange service of subpoenas and monitor affidavits of service
  • Draft Discovery, including Interrogatories and Request for Documents for attorney review
  • Assist clients with preparation of discovery responses
  • Prepare documents for production
  • Assist with preparation of trial notebooks
  • Scan, Fax, Photocopy and bates-stamp documents
  • Other duties as requested

Qualifications + Experience Required

  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word and Excel;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient Proofreading skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each
