DEM Manufacturing is seeking several new people for a cross-trained position as both an Assembler and Injection Mold Operator to perform injection mold machine operation as well as basic to complex assembly of mechanical and medical devices, wire cutting and preparation, and quality control with the highest standards of quality. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

This is a permanent, full-time position. DEM offers a retention bonus, referral bonus, quarterly bonus, year-end bonus structure, and free snacks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform polymer injection molding manufacturing according to machine directions, work instructions, drawings, bills of materials, work orders, and controls provided.
  • Work in a team or individually to perform workstation, cell, or line assembly production of mechanical and medical devices, assemblies, and sub-assemblies according to documented procedures and applicable standards.
  • Operate various manual or powered tools and equipment including air pressure or vacuum equipment, unit, hand drill, belt sander, glue gun, drill press, lathe, wire cutter, scissors, screwdrivers, and heat guns.
  • Perform in-process quality control measurements and documentation.
  • Participate with the Engineering Team to help define and improve work instructions, bills of material, process routings, time studies and production rates, and quality control (QC) processes.
  • Assist with validation and first article production for new processes, components, or finished goods, and submit engineering change requests for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Able to work in a team to identify deficiencies and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent attainment of productivity and quality standards.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Other associated tasks as required.

Qualifications, Education, & Experience

  • High school diploma (GED or High School Equivalence), trade, and/or specialized training.
  • Zero to three years of experience in a manufacturing, injection molding, retail, food preparation, or construction workplace.
  • Ability to work independently while following specific work instructions.
  • Ability to learn and follow written instructions, perform fine hand manipulation, use power tools, and focus on details and quality of work.
  • US Person.

  • Reliable and able to work daily and on time.
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, timeline-driven environment.
  • Basic computer skills, able to navigate through windows and DEM computer files.
  • Must gain a thorough understanding of DEM Manufacturing’s policies, products, processes, and methods.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands

Must be able and willing to:

  • Perform repetitive motion tasks, and tasks requiring light to moderate physical effort.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Perform work that requires extended sitting, standing, reaching, and movement throughout the facility.
